Sonnedix has completed the acquisition of a 5.6MW operational portfolio in the city of Borna (Saxony) and Hegnenbach (Bavaria), Germany, from Danish investors.

The solar PV portfolio is comprised of two ground-mounted single-axis trackers solar PV plants, located in Saxony and Bavaria, Germany. Both plants have been in operation since 2005 (Borna) and 2008 (Hegnenbach) and benefit from the EEG feed-in-tariff regime.

Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix, said:"We are very excited to have completed our first acquisition in the German market, where we first decided to enter in 2021, as part of our platform growth strategy across OECD countries. This is the beginning of our journey in Germany, where we hope to continue expanding the use of solar energy and pushing the Energy Transition forward!"

Sonnedix currently has a total controlled capacity of over 5GW across its platform in eight countries, including a development pipeline of more than 2GW. The solar global IPP is actively seeking further growth opportunities through the acquisition of both operational and development projects.

On this transaction, Sonnedix was advised by LPA-GGV on the legal side, RSM GmbH on the accounting and tax side, and PI Berlin on technical matters.
