Solexel disclosed on Friday that it has raised $15 more in funding.
The Milpitas company led by CEO Michael Wingert didn't say who invested in the round but said there were 12 backers involved.
In addition to Wingert, others listed on the Securities and Exchange Commission filing were Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Mehrdad Moslehi, Chief Financial Officer Mark Kerstens, John Denniston of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Ira Ehrenpreis of Technology Partners, Doug Rose of SunPower Corp., Greg Williams of DAG Ventures and retired Intel executive Les Valdasz.
Solexel raised $36 million about a year ago when it said that it was in the midst of raising a $60 million Series C round of funding. It raised $113 million in its first two rounds.
At the time, it said it hoped to bring 20-percent-efficient photovoltaic modules to market in 2014.
