Oct. 9, 2013 - Over the past few weeks, Lighthouse Solar has been installing an 855KW ballasted roof-mounted system on the headquarters of Nice-Pak Products, Inc./Professional Disposables International, Inc. in Orangeburg, NY.
(3,419) 250W Polycrystalline panels will be strung together in this project, covering over 160,000sqft of normally underutilized roof space. The system is expected to generate around 1-million kilowatt-hours of energy per year – enough to meet 15% of the building's electrical operating costs. That's also enough energy to provide electricity for 97 homes or the equivalent to preventing the carbon-dioxide emissions from burning of 660,000lbs of coal.
"There is always a feeling of accomplishment when we complete an installation of a solar system." Says Jason Iahn, Sales Manager of Lighthouse Solar Hudson Valley, "The work we do benefits the environment and helps companies meet their sustainability goals for the long-term. Lighthouse stands behind every installation we do to ensure our customers get the highest quality service and products over the lifetime of their system."
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority provided funding for this project through Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's NY-Sun Initiative.
