Vasari Energy Targets 500MW of Solar Development in Texas
Vasari Energy, Inc. announced today the company has formally expanded operations into Texas. Vasari Energy signed contracts and letters of intent to develop a target of 235MW of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Texas that will sell power into the electric grid. "We expect to reach our 500MW development target in Texas before the end of 2017," said Sam Lipman, CEO of Vasari Energy. -

Athos Solar Completes 14MW Photovoltaic Plants in Iran
Athos Solar GmbH recently became the first investor to install and launch 2 green-field photovoltaic plants in Iran. The two systems, located in the province of Hamadan near Tehran, have a surface area of ten hectares each. Further, their combined peak output of 14MW marks a milestone in Iran. Athos Solar completely financed the investment of ca. 20 million Euros with equity. -

Cajon Valley Union School District Selects SunPower for 24 Sites
This spring, Cajon Valley Union School District (CVUSD) and SunPower Corp. will begin construction of SunPower® Helix™ solar systems at 24 school sites in the El Cajon region of San Diego County. The solar installations totaling 4.6MW will primarily include carports, as well as a few rooftop systems, and should be operational by the end of this year. -

First Solar Secures Syndicated Financing for Solar Project in Japan
First Solar, Inc. announced today that it has obtained non-recourse project debt financing of approximately 27 billion yen (US$240 million) in a syndicated loan arranged by Mizuho Bank Ltd. for a utility-scale solar project in Ishikawa prefecture, Japan. This financing arrangement demonstrates First Solar's technology, project development, operations and maintenance, and project financing capabilities for utility-scale solar projects in Japan. -

Photosol Selects First Solar to Power 106.5MW PV Plants in France
First Solar, Inc. today announced that Photosol has selected its thin film modules to power 14 utility-scale solar power plants with a total capacity of 106.5MWDC. The projects - developed and owned by Photosol - are part of the third procurement round initiated by France's Commission de Régulation de l'Energie.
