    Suntech, Bangchak Turn on Southeast Asia's Largest Solar Plant in Thailand

    Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. announced that South East Asia's largest silicon photovoltaic power plant, a 44-megawatt project called "Sunny Bangchak", achieved grid connection on September 4, 2012. The project, located in Bang Pa-In, Ayutthaya, forty kilometers outside Bangkok, Thailand, is owned by Bangchak Public Petroleum Co., Ltd (BCP), utilizes Suntech's solar panels and was constructed by engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partner Solartron Public Co., Ltd.

    Dow Corning, LG Electronics and Seowon University Sign MOU for PV System Installations

    Dow Corning Corporation has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with LG Electronics and Seowon University relating to innovative photovoltaic (PV) systems using LG Electronics modules made with Dow Corning silicone encapsulation technology for installation on Seowon University's premises in South Korea.

    Suntech Announces Commitment to Action at 2012 CGI to Power Hospital in the DRC

    Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. today announced that it will create a Commitment to Action as part of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting to help power the Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).  Suntech will donate up to 300 kilowatts of solar panels to the hospital, which will significantly reduce its dependence on expensive diesel generators and firewood.

    Canadian Solar Provides Solar Modules for alpincenter Hamburg-Wittenburg

    Canadian Solar Inc. provided the solar modules for one of Europe's largest skiing halls. The PV rooftop installation on the alpincenter in Hamburg-Wittenburg, Germany, uses Canadian Solar modules with a total output of 3.6MW. The winter sports center's operator reaps a double benefit: using the self-produced solar power significantly offsets energy costs while at the same time reducing the power needed to run the cooling system thank to the shadowing effect underneath the solar system.

    LDK Solar Modules Pass PID Test by TUV Rheinland and PV Lab

    LDK Solar Co., Ltd. announces that LDK Solar modules have passed the potential-induced degradation (PID) tests performed at TUV Rheinland's and PV Lab's laboratories.
