GE and First Solar Announce Solar Technology and Commercial Partnership
August 6, 2013 - Today, GE and First Solar announced a technology partnership to advance thin-film solar cells and modules. First Solar has acquired GE's global cadmium telluride solar intellectual property portfolio, setting a course for advancement of photovoltaic thin-film solar technology. GE received 1.75 million shares of First Solar common stock as part of this transaction. GE has agreed to retain the shares for at least three years. -

JA Solar and Jinglong Group Secure RMB 550 Million Credit Facility
Aug. 5, 2013 - JA Solar today announced that JA Solar and Jinglong Group have secured a RMB 550 million credit facility from the Bank of Communications of China. Of the credit facility, RMB 250 million (US$40.8 million) will be available to JA Solar and RMB 300 million (US$48.9 million) will be available to Jinglong Group. JA Solar intends to use the credit facility for working capital and general corporate purposes. -

Marubeni and Mainstream Agree Euro 100 Million Equity Investment
August 5, 2013 - Mainstream Renewable Power and Marubeni Corporation today agreed a €100 million equity investment deal which sees Marubeni gaining a circa 25% holding in Mainstream. The deal, which is subject to shareholder approval, represents the largest single equity investment in the company's five and a half year history. As part of the agreement Marubeni obtains the right to representation on the Mainstream Board of Directors alongside Barclays which invested in the company in 2008. -

Nextronex Installs 7MW Inverter Systems During July
August 1, 2013 - Nextronex announces the installation of four new Ohio solar projects adding 7MWs of solar power to the grid. Nextronex funnels the entire array's output to as few inverters as needed at any time – allowing each inverter to run at peak efficiency resulting in increased equipment reliability and longevity. These systems are capable of exporting energy starting at only 650 watts.
