asola Solarpower Uses Insolvency Plan Proceedings in Self-Administration for Restructure
30.01.2013 - asola Solarpower GmbH, Erfurt, applied to Erfurt Local Court for the institution of insolvency plan proceedings in self-administration under the ESUG (law for further facilitation of the restructuring of businesses) in order to prepare and implement the restructuring of the company on 23.1.2013. The court has already ruled the stay of execution for the company. This gives the manufacturer 5 of crystalline PV modules time to draw up a restructuring plan that will orientate the company optimally to the more intense future challenges in the market as regards competition and remuneration policy. An administrator to be appointed by the court will monitor the restructuring of the company. The present business management remains fully capable of acting furthermore. The significant and biggest creditors financing the company help carry the reorganization in the insolvency procedure as well as the new strategic focus and will accompany this about the board of creditors actively. Business operations continue unchanged, allowing clients to continue to obtain asola premium modules in the usual quality. All receivables from accounts receivable trade newly commissioned by asola Solarpower will be paid regularly. Staff monthly salaries are assured through the insolvency substitute benefits of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (Federal Labour Agency). The other two companies in the asola group, asola Quantum Solarpower AG and asola Automotive Solar Deutschland GmbH, are not affected by the insolvency proceedings. -

AEG Announces a New Contract for 240MW Solar Power Plants in Eastern Europe
30 January 2013 - AEG Power Solutions opens the year by announcing a major contract with a large Western European EPC. This deal is the third large solar contract in Eastern Europe that the group is awarded. It covers photovoltaic utility scale equipment and services for 240MW. AEG Power Solutions will provide complete electrical systems for nine photovoltaic power plants in Eastern Europe. -

Kyocera to Supply Solar Modules and Services for "Social Contribution Mega-Solar Power Plant Project" in Japan
28 January 2013 – Kyocera Solar Corporation (herein "KSC"), Plus Social Co., Ltd. (herein "PS"); and The Trans Value Trust Company, Ltd. (herein "Trans Value") have announced that they are working together to install the country's first-ever social contribution mega-solar power generation plant (provisional name: Ryukoku Solar Park). The 1.85-megawatt solar project will sell the electricity generated under Japan's generous feed-in tariff (FIT) and donate the profits to local communities, creating a model that provides funds to solve social problems while promoting the spread of renewable energy. -

Panasonic Completes Solar Project at University of Colorado Boulder
Jan. 25, 2013 - Panasonic Eco Solutions North America announces that it has completed a 500kW solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation installation at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU-Boulder). The system was developed and built by Panasonic with local support from Lighthouse Solar. Financing was provided by a subsidiary of Renewable Social Benefits Fund ("RSBF"). The new installation will help the university meet its short-term goal of powering the campus with green energy, reducing energy usage and cost, while fulfilling part of its long-term goal for a carbon-neutral campus, outlined in the pledge made by former CU-Boulder Chancellor G.P. "Bud" Peterson to the American College and University President Climate Commitment. -
